My name is Paul Hunt and I am a Senior Motion Designer at The Mill.
I studied graphic design when mac's were beige and rectangular. Omnicrom machines, photocopiers and Lettraset were my tools of choice. Magazine design was king with the likes of Raygun, Thrasher, Bikini, and iD. The grid was being disembled and design was taking a decidedly punk approach, led by studios like Tomato and Attic and designers like David Carson and Jonathan Barnbrook.
Typography and layout has always floated my boat, but I had never imagined a world where I would animate until I saw Kyle Cooper's titles for "Seven".
A cliche to admit now but it spoke volumes to me watching them for the first time. As a young student I wanted to add motion to my work. But my thirst
for storytelling through design wouldn't take form until returning to college some years later as a mature student when I studied traditional animation, landing my first job in the industry, midway through studying as a storyboard 'artist'. This lead to me to accepting a full-time job as a junior motion designer position at SPOV.

Cut to present day, almost four years with The Moving Picture Company and with more than 15 years of motion experience, I'm still creatively aroused by good balanced design, strong typography and visual storytelling.
I have a love for cinema, documentries, music and videogames. I have a strong connection with the outdoors and really enjoy photography. From time to time I return to an analog approach to creativity and paint portraits and am very fond of a powertool.
